Architectural Resources Group

Founded in 1980, Architectural Resources Group (ARG) is a 50-person, full-service architectural practice with a focus on historic preservation. Our integrated services include architecture, historic architecture, sustainable design, conservation, planning, historical research and materials conservation. ARG’s staff includes architects, designers, planners, historians, and materials conservators who work closely together across offices in California and the Pacific Northwest.

Our portfolio includes award-winning innovative solutions for the adaptive reuse, interior upgrades, seismic strengthening, stabilization, materials conservation, documentation, and restoration of historic properties, as well as the design of new structures in sensitive environments. ARG Portland has worked on many of the most iconic historic sites in Oregon and Washington, including the Washington State Capitol Campus, the Oregon State Capitol, Portland Union Station, Maryhill Museum of Art, Pittock Mansion, Portland City Hall, the Oregon Caves Chateau, Fort Vancouver, and Oregon State Hospital. The office includes multiple experts in historic architecture, conservation and preservation planning, and is led by principals Maya Foty, AIA, LEED AP, and Matthew Davis, AICP.
