Issaquah Historic Property Grants

Bricks and mortar

The Washington Trust for Historic Preservation and the City of Issaquah are pleased to announce a one-time “bricks and mortar” historic building grant program available to properties in Issaquah. This grant opportunity will provide matching funds to assist owners of landmarked properties within the City of Issaquah municipal limits with rehabilitation of their historic buildings. Tenants of eligible properties may only apply for funding with the property owners’ authorization.

This grant program is supported by funds provided by the City of Issaquah in satisfaction of stipulations of a Memorandum of Agreement to resolve Adverse Effects to the Anderson Farmstead.

Each applicant is permitted to request between $5,000-$50,000 in grant funds; funding will be provided on a reimbursement basis only. Applicants are required to match at least 50% of the grant amount they request with cash and/or donated labor or materials. Projects must be completed by December 31, 2019.

Eligibility

A property must be deemed eligible for designation as a King County Landmark to apply for funding and must receive designation as a City of Issaquah Landmark before funding is disbursed. For more information on your property’s eligibility as a City of Issaquah Landmark, please contact Todd Scott, Preservation Architect with the King County Historic Preservation Program, at 206-477-4545 or by email.
