Issaquah Historic Property Grants

Bricks and mortar

The Washington Trust for Historic Preservation and the City of Issaquah are pleased to announce the third and final round of the bricks-and-mortar historic building grant program which was initiated in 2018. This grant opportunity will provide matching funds to assist owners of landmarked properties within the City of Issaquah municipal limits with the rehabilitation of their historic buildings.

This grant program is supported by funds provided by the City of Issaquah in satisfaction of stipulations of a Memorandum of Agreement to resolve Adverse Effects to the Anderson Farmstead.

Each applicant is permitted to request up to $42,011 in grant funds; funding will be provided on a reimbursement basis only. Applicants are required to match at least 50% of the grant amount they request with cash and/or donated labor or materials. Projects must be completed by December 31, 2023.

Eligibility

A property must either already be designated as a landmark or be determined eligible for landmark designation to apply for funding. If eligible, the property must receive designation as a City of Issaquah Landmark before grant funding is disbursed at the conclusion of the project. For more information on your property’s eligibility as a City of Issaquah Landmark, please contact Sarah Steen, Landmarks Coordinator with the King County Historic Preservation Program, at 206-477-7976 or by email.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the remainder of the grant fund has been awarded; ie. there is no deadline, but we encourage you to apply as soon as you have a viable project.
